A Sugar Plum Fairy Birthday Party

We recently celebrated Bella Grace's 7th Birthday with a Sugar Plum Fairy Birthday Party! It isn't the easiest thing to have a birthday right around Christmas but each year I do my very best to come up with some wonderful way to honor and celebrate her!  She loves to decorate Gingerbread houses , loves to dress up  and loves all things pink and fluffy so this is what I created for her this year! I love creative and original birthday parties! I had so much fun staging this! There was pink tulle, sparkle snow, glitter and pink fluff as far as the eye could see! I loved watching eleven little girls all dressed in Sugar Plum costumes giggling and dancing and prancing around!  I downloaded the entire Nutcracker soundtrack and that played throughout the house during the party. The girls enjoyed a lunch of angel sandwiches, fruit kabobs on magic wands, pink lemonade and other Christmas goodies. Then everyone had the chance to decorate their own houses! At the very end Bella Grace sprinkled each house with sparkle snow and glitter! I think this was her very favorite birthday party ever. I cannot believe my little Sugar Plum is seven...trying to hold my heart in my chest.

what a beautiful party and beautiful daughter. My granddaughter, Grace Mildred, "Mildred for my Mom", just had a Nutcracker Party. I'll post pics this week! We all had a fab time and the kids acted out the Nutcracker while my daughter Amy read parts of the story. It is a great party for after the holidays! Love the pink hydrangeas and their own gingerbread house! Waiting for one more pic. check http://jerseyshorejournal.blogspot.com

Thank you all so much for your sweet words and cheerful comments! You all are too kind. And @ Mama Henley ~ There isn't anything "perfect" going on at this house. I can promise you that! :) I just love celebrating my children. It's the only day out of the entire year that they do not have to share with anyone else! I'm so happy to finally get a post up and to catch up with each one of you. Hoping to do a better job of that this year. I have missed all of you wonderful bloggers!!!

Hello there- I accidently (providentally) found your blog today and LOVED it b/c apparently you & I think alike. We celebrated my 4 year old's bday on 12/22 and wow it IS hard to make the celebratinog special amidst all the Christmas chaos, but my mother always made my homemade birthdays special & so I do the same, always will. We had an all out dress up princess party with costumed characters an all...she wanted a Nutcracker Ballet birthday until our Nov trip to disney world and then it all changed. So, I'm takeing cues from your beautiful blog and that's what we'll be doing next year...partly for me, mostly for her :) Thanks for the inspiration!

I saw Sugar Plum Fairy and I went back in time. That is my favorite part of the whole Nutcracker. The pas de deux music IS Christmas to me. So beautiful and magical. This party looks divine. Loved everything. What a fabulous idea. I am planning my 8 year old's party for next week... a pajama party. Off to make pillow cases. Love your blog.. I'll be back! :)

Thanks so much for your kind email! Indeed ,we are in the same boat:) My hubby comes about once a month so it has taken some adjusting. We miss him terribly. My days are pretty much about carpooling ( 3 schools one downtown one on Daniel Island and one in Mt.Pleasant) The mornings aren't too bad because Grace sleeps for that hour of driving. The afternoons are a different story...Carpool lines ,traffic and a very upset 6 month old. I just keep reminding myself that this is all TEMPORARY insanity. My prayers are with you and yours:)

I just found your blog while searching for sugar plum fairy birthday ideas. I loved everything about the party and was wondering if you had any other tips/suggestions that I might use for my daughter's 6th birthday.
