The Beauty Detox

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend! I wanted to share a wonderful book I've been reading. I am not finished with it but I have just been blown away by the wealth of knowledge written here so far!

I absolutely love to read and try to squeeze in as much as possible even in the midst of taking care of so many young children. I read at red lights:)

I found my copy at Target and have underlined and highlighted it to pieces. I feel that it is an answer to prayer for me personally as I have really struggled with my weight , skin and so on a lot in life.
Especially over the last ten years.  Thanks to having lots of babies in a short amount of time!

Needless to say, I do not look or feel the way I wanted to look and feel at forty!

I hate to say this but I am not a gym person. I am most uncomfortable in a gym or fitness facility.  I absolutely cannot stand it. The smell alone is enough to send me right out the door. One look at all of those folks dripping sweat all over those machines....no thank you.

I am ultra feminine. Ultra girly girl. I don't do gyms.

I admire all of you who are so disciplined and get up every single day and work out!

Here's hoping I can overcome my issues!

I do love a good dance class though. I LOVE to dance. And I can wear pink lip gloss and pearls to my dance class. So I am thinking about attempting a class as well as trying some of the suggestions in this wonderful new book.

I'll let you know how it's going.

I'll let you know if I survive cutting out all dairy. Have mercy.

Hope you all have a beautiful and blessed weekend!

I hate gyms too. I really love to dance, I'm 22 and I still go to dance classes.

Dear Sibi,

I read this book years ago called
"Walk Yourself Thin" by David A. Rives. It talks about walking and drinking a lot of water. I thought it was very motivational.

Keep your chin up!

We just have to put one foot in front of the other (me included)!

I'm also going to try some of my
Cinch shakes from Shaklee. Right
now I have just been using them when I don't have time to eat.
But I have to get on a program.

I would love to check out a Zumba
class.

Be patient and kind to yourself.

Best,

Coastal Blue Ocean

You are already so beautiful, this change will only enhance it. I did a detox last year and never felt better. It's amzaing what small changes can do. Since then I've lost and kept off 30 pounds so I know how it can be. Thinking of you often and counting the days (whenever it may be) to The Pearl Event.
Much Love
Nancy

I feel exactly the same way about gyms, The smell. The shared sweat. The worry that everyone will judge me for being so out of shape. And scary machines. Ick.

Have Mercy! ;)

I know...me too. I am going to TRY to start on a better, thinner me tomorrow. I pray we both get healthier. That's really the goal.

I am sure you can do this Sibi...you are such an inspiration & I can't imagine that there's anything you & God can't accomplish!

I think the dancing idea is great!Whenever I have read your blog I thought how pretty you are...The one way I keep slim (I don;t liek gyms either) is simple: walking and eating small portions that way I don;t feel deprived. It has worked, Now in my 40's I weigh what I did in college.

If you like dancing, you may enjoy Zumba. It's a Latin/international dance-based workout. I have LOVED doing Zumba classes with my parents at a local community center. All ages, all fitness levels, all body types, and we all just dance and have fun. It's a great workout and you don't have to deal with the gym issues. Blessings to you on your journey.

Dancing would be fun! that way you don't "know" your burning calories;)
I have never heard of this book. I am doing lots of the same things. I didn't start working out until I turned 40!
I do my workouts at home..P90X, Insanity and I walk/jog. I'm to embarrassed to do it in a gym. I did try it though.
You ARE beautiful and so is your heart:) Praying for dairy! Keep us posted

Good luck!! I cut out dairy for a few years to see if it would help my allergies...it did for awhile but then I found out I had Celiac (so no more gluten) and I couldn't deal with no bread AND no ice cream;)

I think the key to keeping up with exercise is finding something you really enjoy so you want to keep doing it....dance classes sound perfect!!
